The Gebze – Darica Metro Line represents a significant advancement in public transportation, connecting the Gebze and Darica districts of Kocaeli province with a modern rapid transit system. This groundbreaking project includes 13 stations of tunnel and cut-and-cover type, spanning approximately 15.4 kilometers of main line tunnels, along with a depot and maintenance area. Notably, this metro system marks the first network to extend beyond a provincial capital in Turkey, serving as a pivotal development for the Kocaeli Province.

 

At Gebze Marmaray Gar railway station, the metro line will provide seamless interchange with high-speed and intercity trains, as well as Marmaray commuter trains to Istanbul, enhancing connectivity for commuters. The implementation of new generation technology (GOA4) in the form of a driverless rail system ensures the highest standards of efficiency and safety for passengers. This innovative approach also allows for increased trip frequencies, facilitating more convenient and reliable transportation options for residents and visitors alike.

 

The project is carried out using Building Information Modeling (BIM) system.

 

Preliminary, final and detail (construction) design services for the metro rail system have been prepared by Prota.

The design services provided by Prota within the scope of the project are summarized below:
