Socar Star Refinery Buildings

Constructed by TSGI Engineering, Socar’s Star Refinery is in Izmir, Turkey. The refinery is the largest single-location real sector investment in Turkey’s history.

As the only refinery company in Türkiye with a refinery-petrochemical integration, STAR Refinery is the largest refinery project in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Star Refinery meets approximately 19.5% of Türkiye’s demand for processed crude oil products and reduces Türkiye’s petroleum products imports.

Prota is the general designer of general canteen and dining building, fire brigade building, central laboratory, maintenance workshop and warehouse, main guard house, substation and WWTP facility, drinking system facility, renovation of administration building and outside works (landscape, roads, car parking, infrastructure, etc.).

Prota provided services in all branches within the scope of the facility project, in the concept, preliminary, final and detail stages. Within the scope of the project, Prota’s services include;

With another contract, Prota carried out the specification control, adaptation to Turkish standards, translation of the projects and obtaining the permissions by signing them by authorized engineers and architects in order to obtain the coastal facilities operation permit for coastal facility structures (A/B slope tanks, hydrocarbon drainage tank, water tank, vapor recovery unit, jetty operator building, jetty SS and RIB and etc).
