CerModern was transformed from the disused tarin wagon repair building into a contemporary art center. Prota provided structural design and construction supervision.

 

The CerModern, an old maintenance hall for railway wagons and engines recently restored, now serves as Ankara’s contemporary arts center spread over an area of 11.500 sqm. 

 

The center was designed by Architects Semra-Özcan Uygur for Ministry of Culture and Tourism,

CerModern hosts different art disciplines with a variety of artistic spaces such as temporary exhibition halls, photography gallery, a conference and multi-purpose hall of 370 people and Sculpture Park.

 

Within the scope of restoration services tendered by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Prota provided seismic assessment and damage analysis, restoration and retrofitting design services and preparation of lists of building works, bills of quantities and cost estimates.

 

Entire design works were completed in 2001.

Prota provided services in the concept, preliminary, final and detail stages. Within the scope of the project, Prota’s services include;
