Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for the Turkish Red Crescent Protürk Plasma Fractionation Facility

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Turkish Red Crescent Protürk Plasma Fractionation Facility, one of Türkiye’s most significant investments in biotechnology and healthcare technologies, was held in Çubuk, Ankara.

Developed through a partnership between Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) and SK Plasma, the project aims to support the domestic production of plasma-derived medicines and contribute to Türkiye’s strategic independence in the healthcare sector. The ceremony was attended by project stakeholders and featured a live address by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The facility will be constructed on a 130,000 m² campus and will represent a major milestone for Türkiye’s healthcare industry with its advanced manufacturing infrastructure, high-security standards, and design in compliance with international biopharmaceutical production requirements. Upon completion, the project is expected to establish a strong and sustainable ecosystem for the local production of plasma-derived pharmaceuticals.

As Prota Engineering, we are proud to serve as the lead designer and engineering partner for this strategic investment. Within the scope of the project, we are providing comprehensive engineering services and coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure disciplines to ensure that the facility is designed in accordance with international standards.

Given the high level of precision required for biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, our work focuses on integrating process requirements with structural and technical systems, supporting clean production environments, promoting sustainability objectives, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Prota’s extensive experience in industrial facilities, high-technology buildings, and projects involving specialized processes brings significant value to the design and development of this investment. Throughout all engineering activities, from design development to implementation, the principles of quality, safety, sustainability, and technical excellence remain at the core of our approach.

We are delighted to contribute to the realization of this important investment, which will strengthen Türkiye’s domestic pharmaceutical production capacity. We wish the Turkish Red Crescent Protürk Plasma Fractionation Facility every success and trust that it will deliver lasting benefits to our country, the healthcare sector, and all project stakeholders.
