GIRLS VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL RESTORATION-ÇORUM
Architect: Saadet Sayın
Client: T.R. Ministry
of Culture
As consequence of a fire, wooden floors were
completely burnt. For the restoration purpose,
outer masonry walls of the building is preserved
as a whole and a structure made by steel
constructed frame and precast panel floors
is placed inside.
The building is used as a museum. There has
been no connection in the surrounding walls
and the walls are strengthened as receiving
only the vertical loads. Total area of the
building is 5,000 m2.

TAX HOUSE - BALIKESİR
Architect: Merih Karaaslan
/ Nuran Ünsal
Client: Ministry of Finance.
Structural engineering services provided by
Prota in 1988. The building consists of 17
floors and
total construction area is approximately 13,000
sqm.

TAX HOUSE - KAYSERİ

Prota in 1989. The building consists of 18
floors and
total construction area is approximately 12,000
sqm.

KAYSU HEAD OFFICE - KAYSERİ
The architects
of the project were Merih Karaaslan and Nuran
Ünsal, the client was Kayseri Municipality.
Structural engineering services provided by
Prota in 1992. The building consists of 10
floors and
total construction area is approximately 15,000
sqm.

BAĞKUR HEAD OFFICE – ANKARA

Client: Bağkur General
Directorate
Total construction area is approximately
44,000 sqm. The project designed in 1992-93 and
the
building’s project has been designed according
to new Turkish Code in 2001. The “U” shaped construction
consists of 9 buildings because of large floor
area. The R/C building has 10 floors.
The services include the followings: Preliminary
design and reports, Final design and structural
calculations, Application design drawings, Cassette,
nervure, shell system solutions,
steel design drawings, cost estimates and tender
documents preparation.

TAKSİM UNDERGROUND STATION 2. CONCOURSE BUILDING
- İSTANBUL
Architect: Yüksel Proje
Client: İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality
The structure is completely under the Taksim
Square. The building has been designed by establishing
a box-model (using the finite elements model)
having considered tunnel and shaft installations
of the Underground. Total construction area is
3,400 m2 and design has been completed in 1995.

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ANNEX, MOSCOW,
FEDERATION OF RUSSIA
The building has 14 floors
which 5 of them are underground. The building
is composed of two sections.
One is underground parking section which hss
24,000 sq.m. construction area and the other
is the annex
building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs with
it’s 25,000 sq.m. area. İn the first phase the
underground
parking construction finished and operated. While
the parking is under operation the upper part
of the building was constructed. The project
works
had been rendered in 1992-94. Within the framework
of the project, the below stated services were
done:
- 1/100 and 1/200 project study and reports
- Geologic
and Topographic area studies
- Structural
analysis, design and application projects
- Preparation
quantity measurements

BALÇOVA, INTERCITY BUS TERMINAL – İZMİR
Architect: Merih Karaaslan
Client: İzmir Metropolitan Municipality
Being the biggest bus station in Turkey,
the large spans are designed as one and two
way ribbed slab
systems and precast beams. The total area of
the complex is 100,000 sq.m. Project services
was rendered
in 1997-98. Reinforced concrete overpasses and
tunnels are analysed using finite elements modelling.
Following services provided for the project:

and Dynamic Response Spectrum Analyses
- Preparation
of Steel and Concrete Details and Shop Drawings

TAX BUILDING - MERSİN

Client: Emek İnş. A.Ş.
Works on the
project by Semra-Özcan Uygur, Architect M.A.
has been done in the second half of 1994.
The 28 storey building has 28,000 sq.m construction
area. Within the project, the below stated services
have been completed:
- Geological and topographic
area studies
- Technical
feasibility reports
- Structural analysis
and design and application projects
- Preparation of investigations and quantity
estimations
- Construction Consultancy.

TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH CENTER-İSTANBUL
Architect: Semra Teber
Client: KOSGEB
The center
is located on the Istanbul-Ankara highway,
in the vicinity of Gebze. The building
has a circular plan layout with a reception
hall at the center and radial distributed spaces
separated
by curved corridors. The total area of the
center is 5,500 sq.m. The reception hall has
a 3 dimensional
steel structural roof system while the other
parts of the structure are designed as reinforced
concrete structure. The project services have
been rendered in 1996.

MANYAS BIRD PARADISE, OBSERVATION TOWER -
BALIKESİR
Client: Ministry of Forest
Complete design services have been carried
out by PROTA in 1999. Steel structural system
have
designed as corrosion-resistant by taking particular
measures through wooden coverages. Total height
of the tower is 25 m.

F TYPE PRISON - DİYARBAKIR
This prison building
is one of the first samples designed and constructed
in European Union standards.
Structure has been designed by considering
special security precautions in 1997. All engineering
services including design and technical consultancy
have been performed by PROTA. Total area
is 40,000
m2.

TBMM PARLIAMENT MEMBERS’ ACTION BUILDINGS - ANKARA
The
architect of the project were Semra-Özcan Uygur
and the client was TBMM. Structural engineering
services were provided by Prota. Total area is
approximately 55,000
sqm.
The building consists of 550 working rooms,
meeting rooms, closed underground carpark,
reception halls
and appurtenances. The project has been designed
in 1998.

ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM - ANKARA
Client: Ministry of Culture
The steel roof of the museum which has an approximate
area of 650 m2 has been designed for covering
the middle courtyard of the museum in 1999
by PROTA.
3-D Steel-constructive design system is used
and the thickest part is 350 mm.

All structural engineering services of the
buildings have been done by PROTA as sub-consultant
to TEMELSU
A.S. in 2001. Total construction area is 5,000
m2.

75. YEAR ASYLUM AND REST HOUSE - ANKARA
Client: Emek İnşaat ve İşletme A.Ş.
Under the social aid project of the Turkish
Retirement Organization, the building has been
designed by
PROTA in 2000. All engineering design and consultancy
services have been performed including construction
supervision. Total construction area of the
building is 34,000 m2 and include quest rooms,
dining room,
recreational areas, closed autopark, annexes,
lecture rooms etc.

İZMİR ADNAN MENDERES AIRPORT ANNEX FACILITIES
Client: DHMİ
The Annex Terminal Building has been designed
for the Airport in 1989. R/C Structural Engineering
Services have been done by PROTA. Total construction
area is 75,000 m2. Terminal Building is already
servicing as domestic airlines.

In the center of the city to provide an urban
attraction area this building has been designed
for. Structural
Engineering Services have been done by PROTA
in 1995. Total construction area is 9,600 m2.

TAX HOUSE - BOLU

Contractor: Emek İnş. A.Ş.
The steel structural design studies have been
completed in 2001. The total construction area
of the tax
building is 7,000 sq.m. Within the scope of
the project steel structural Analysis, design
and application
projects and preparation of quantity estimation
services were rendered.

ATATÜRK STREET RAILWAY PASS - TARSUS
Client: Tarsus Municipality / World Bank
The design and planning consultancy services
have been awarded to METROPLAN-PROTA Joint
Venture in
1991. Preliminary Design and Feasibility studies,
geological and topographical site surveys,
intersection planning, possession plans, traffic
surveys and
plans, bridge design, landscaping, infrastructural
designs, preparation of cost estimations, bidding
documents, bid evaluation consultancy types
of consultancy services have been given under
the
scope of Contract. PROTA specifically designed
bridge structure, in-situ concrete foundations
of the bridge, R/C columns, head beams.
