GIRLS VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL RESTORATION-ÇORUM

Architect: Saadet Sayın
Client: T.R. Ministry of Culture
As consequence of a fire, wooden floors were completely burnt. For the restoration purpose, outer masonry walls of the building is preserved as a whole and a structure made by steel constructed frame and precast panel floors is placed inside. The building is used as a museum. There has been no connection in the surrounding walls and the walls are strengthened as receiving only the vertical loads. Total area of the building is 5,000 m2.

TYPICAL DESIGNS OF HIGH SCHOOL FACILITIES

The structural system design projects of typical high school buildings which would be used in several cities of Turkey in the schools to be constructed by The Ministry of National Education are carried out for different ground and regional characteristics. The facilities have closed sporting areas and other auxiliary structures and have a closed area of 14,000 m2. Designs are finalized in 1994.

DORMITORY BUILDING - KARS

Client: Ministry of Public Works
Complete design project services (including E&M) for Kars Dormitory building having a capacity of 250 boys, 150 girls and 8,000 m2 of area have been carried out in 1995.

METU EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL – ANKARA

Architect: Semra Teber
Client: ODTÜ Educational Foundation
The annex of the school building consists of conference hall, ateliers and training rooms. The steel and R/C structural projects of the buildings have been performed by Prota in 1997. The building is consist of different type and size buildings. Total area of the complex is 15,000 sq.m. In the scope of the project steel and R/C structural engineering services, building service facilities (infrastructural) and quantity estimation services were rendered. Steel trusses with 25 m. span in the middle courtyard of the building are designed as the characteristic of the structure requires.

DORMITORIES OF EAST MEDITERRANEAN UNIVERSITY

Client: Tepe Prefabrik A.Ş. / East Mediterranean University
Modern dormitory buildings are planned within the area of University Campus. Complete design services are done by PROTA Engineering including Architectural, Structural, E&M projects. Designs have been finalized in 1997. The buildings are made of steel structural system. Building with two blocks has an area of 1,200 m2.

METU PRIVATE DORMITORY BUILDINS- ANKARA

Client: Sonmak A.Ş.
Complete design services of 10,300 m2 buildings have been completed in 2001. Student capacity of the dormitory is 600. Construction supervision services are also done by PROTA. The dormitory has two blocks and is containing of canteen, study saloons, bedrooms, other auxiliary facilities.

T.C. GAZİ UNIVERSITY ECONOMICS FACULTY - ÇORUM

Client: Akçamlar İnşaat A.Ş. / Gazi University
Building has placed in Çorum campus of the Gazi University. Complete design and consultancy services are rendered by PROTA and finished in 1999. Building has been designed in beam-plaque system. It has study saloons, laboratories, library, dining saloons, classrooms, administrative sections and other auxiliary facilities. The area is 14,500 m2.

REFİKA AKSOY PRIMARY SCHOOL – ANKARA

Client: Sonmak A.Ş.
PROTA has rendered complete design and consultancy services of the school which is to be constructed in Batıkent, Ankara. Design services are completed in 1999. Building has been designed in beam-plaque system and it has 32 classrooms. Within the building there exist laboratories, gymnasium, music and painting classrooms, ateliers, kindergarten and other auxiliary facilities. Project studies include design services, preparation of cost estimations, construction supervision and technical consultancy services. The area is 12,000 m2.

PRIVATE KENT PRIMARY SCHOOL - ANKARA

Client: Tepe Prefabrik A.Ş. / Bilkent University
Complete design services, supervision of construction and technical consultancy services are done by PROTA. Design services have been completed in 1997. Construction has been finished within 4 months in Bilkent, Ankara. The building is designed as a composite system made of steel frames and R/C concrete earthquake walls. Building has 32 classrooms and three storeys and an area of 7,500 m2.

TOURISM VOCATIONAL SCHOOL – BODRUM

Client: Ministry of Tourism
Structural design of the campus has been carried out by PROTA. Modern educational techniques are used in the buildings. Design services are done in 1990. The campus which also has an educational hotel has a total construction area of 20,000 m2.

PRIVATE FATİH PRIMARY AND HIGH SCHOOL– İSTANBUL

Architect: Salih Erbora
Steel and R/C structural system design of school complex has been carried out by PROTA in 1990. Total construction area is 35,000 m2.

PRIVATE AYŞE ABLA PRIMARY AND HIGH SCHOOL - ANKARA

Architect: Ahmet Can Ersan
Structural system design of the campus is done by PROTA. Modern educational techniques are used for the school campus and the services are completed in 1991. Total construction area is 12,000 m2.

TED YUMRUBEL EDUCATION CAMPUS - ANKARA

Client: Turkish Education Foundation
The campus is established in Ankara Gölbaşı Yumrubel. To provide modern education for primary and high school students the biggest campus of Turkey has been designed. The student capacity of the campus is 5,500. The project services has been rendered in 2000-2001. The whole campus contains of 41 blocks. The campus consists of 1,500 spectator capacity theater, 2,500 spectator capacity indoor sports hall, stadium, 3 indoor sport hall, laboratories, restaurant, recreational facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, student clubs, social facilities, administrative building and technical spaces. The total construction area of campus is 136,000 sq.m. The structural project services, consultancy, quantity estimation services were rendered by Prota.

LODUMLU GARRISON AND TRAINING CAMPUS - ANKARA

Architect: METU Faculty of Architecture – Client : Ministry of National Defence
Structural designs of traning campus of General Command of Mapping have been rendered by PROTA İN 1995. The total construction area of campus is 45,000 sq.m.

DORMITORIES - ANKARA

Client: Tepe Prefabrik A.Ş.
Complete design services and technical consultancy services of the dormitories to be built in the Beytepe Campus of Hacettepe University have been rendered by PROTA in 1996.
The system is designed by steel bearing system. The total construction area of campus is 10,000 sq.m.

PRIVATE BİLİM PRIMARY AND HIGH SCHOOL – ANKARA

Client: Bilim College A.S.
Structural system design services of Bilim College, Ankara has been done by PROTA in 1988. The total construction area of campus is 15,000 sq.m.

DORMITORIES, NİĞDE

Client: Student Credit and Dormitories Organization
The campus is made of 5 blocks with a mixture of 3 or 4 storeys buildings. Student capacity is around 1000. System is designed as prefabricated and complete engineering services are done by PROTA in 1989. Studies include geological surveys, topographical site works, structural analysis, techncial feasibility reports, prelimanary and final design services, application projects, prefabricated details, infrastructural design and projects, preparation of cost estimations and technical consultancy services. The total construction area of campus is 12,000 sq.m.

PHYSICAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION PROJECT (EFİKAP)

Client: Turkish Ministry of National Education
Within the scope of the project, Turkish Ministry of National Education planned to construct 34 new schools in 9 provinces (including Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, Balikesir, Canakkale, Eskisehir and Mugla) through the country, which add up to 333,000 m2. Other than the school buildings, the relevant structural components, made of steel or reinforced concrete, included sport halls, workshops and ateliers, dormitories, public vocational centres, technical vocational units, lodging buildings.
Prota formed a Joint Venture with UBM (another Turkish engineering company) on the basis of equally splitting all kinds of services to be rendered. Volume of construction works add up to € 65.2 Mil. All have been completed and currently operational.

Undertaken works include the Topographical survey and soil investigation for 34 sites , Architectural preliminary and final design and preparation of related detailed drawings, Preliminary and detail design of load bearing steel and reinforced concrete structural systems and preparation of related drawings, Preliminary and detail design for infrastructure, mechanical and electrical installations, site and neighbourhood planning, landscaping and access and ring roads, Preparation of lists of building works, bills of quantities and cost estimates, Follow up and getting construction permits and licences from municipal and other public authorities, Preparation of tender dossiers for construction including administrative and technical specifications in accordance with FIDIC rules, Contract management and construction supervision services, Quality control of construction materials and supplies, Issuing of preliminary and final acceptance certificates.

TOURISM TRAINING CENTRE - SİDE

Architect: Murat Artu – Client : Ministry of Tourism
Structural design of the campus has been carried out by PROTA. Modern educational techniques are used in the buildings. Design services are done in 1992. The campus which also has an educational hotel has a total construction area of 16,000 m2.

SECOND BASIC EDUCATION PROJECT – Grup B

Client: Yüksel Proje A.Ş.
Geotechnical studies, material tests, vulnerability reports, earthquake performance assessments, seismic assessment reports, retrofit structural designs, cost estimations and bill of quantitites, detailed drawings are prepapared by PROTA. Within the scope, 275 nos of schools (760 building blocks) are assessed in 26 different provinces. Total construction area of 798,986 sq.m. Project has been completed in 2006.

SEISMIC EVALUATION, PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS, RETROFIT DESIGNS AND DETAILS OF VARIOUS PENSION PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Client: Ministry of National Education
Damage assessment, soil investigation and geotechnical report, In-situ drawings, seismic evaluation, retrofitting project and details and consultancy services of different type of 34 wall bearing, R/C school and pension buildings in Bingöl, İzmir, Bursa, Balıkesir and Çanakkale. Total closed area is 285,000 sqm.

TECHNICAL CONSULTANCY AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION SERVICES OF 54 SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN EAST ANATOLİA.

Client: Ministry of National Education,
Consultancy and Site Supervision Services for 54 School Buildings - retrofitting project evaluation, site supervision and consultancy services of different type of 54 wall bearing, R/C school and pension buildings in Bingöl, Siirt, Van, Muş, Hakkari, and Bitlis. Total closed area : 233,000 sqm.
