TV PRODUCTION STUDIOS – ERZURUM
Architect: Özhan Sökmen - Client : Turkish Radio Television
General Directorate
To renew the existing studios in Erzurum,
acoustic and civil engineering designs have
been provided
by PROTA. The studio design services are
containing of steel acustic internal covering
designs,
preparation of stage technics projects, preparation
of arc calculations, to determine the building
periods by dynamic analysis, cost estimations,
preparation of the tender documents. The
building has an area of 10,000 sq.m.

RADIO-TV-NEWS PRODUCTION CENTRE - İZMİR
Architect: Özhan Sökmen
Client: Turkish Radio Television General Directorate
Since the beginning of the work, Prota has
provided construction supervision consultancy,
project analysis
and design for the İzmir Production center, the
second biggest production center in Turkey after
Ankara. The total area of the building is 60,000
sq.m. The work has carried on within the framework
of the consulting services provided by the German
TV, ZDF. In the scope of the project, the steel
inner shells, RC grid systems, box systems, RC
shell systems, have been designed.

CULTURAL CENTRE - VAN
Architect: Ahmet Can
Ersan
Client: Ministry of Culture
This centre is one of the first cultural centres
of the East Anatolia. The structure has an area
of 10,000 m2 and contains of multi-purpose saloon,
exhibition spaces, study rooms and several cannexes.
All engineering services have been provided by
PROTA.

TURKISH PARLIAMENT (TBMM) TV PRODUCTION STUDIO,
ANKARA
Architect: Özhan Sökmen
Client: TBMM
Complete design and consultancy services including
steel acoustic internal covering designs, arc
calculations, determination of structural
periods by dynamic
analysis, application projects and detailed drawings,
cost estimations, tender documents preparation
have been provided by PROTA in 1992. Total area
is 5,000 m2 .

AKÇAKOCA MOSQUE - BOLU
Architect: Ergün Subaşı
Client: Association of Mosque Building
Akçakoca Mosque has an area of 9,500 m2 . Differently
designed from the traditional architecture, the
structure has covered by a R/C shell system which
was made by using a 3-D finite elements model
by a computer program. Main space width is
36 by 36m.
The minarets are structurally analysed considering
ground conditions and earthquake risks. The heights
of dome, minaret and serefe are 31m, 58 m and
35 m respectively. It has been designed in
1992.

PRESS YOUTH CENTRE - ANKARA
Architect: Nuran
Ünsal
Client: Ankara Municipality
The purpose of the design is to create a cultural
complex centre by restoration of the vineyard
placed in Ankara Kuloğlu Street. Prota provided
the engineering
and construction supervision services. The area
of the centre is 6,000 m2 .

TEPEBAŞI TV PRODUCTION STUDIOS, İSTANBUL

Client: TRT General Directorate
All required engineering services have been
provided by PROTA to convert an old building
in İstanbul
Tepebaşı to a studio (with the audiences) in
1992. The studio design services are containing
of steel
acoustic internal covering designs, preparation
of stage techniques projects, preparation of
arc calculations, to determine the building
periods
by dynamic analysis, cost estimations, preparation
of the tender documents. Within the services
provided the effects of the renewals to the
building structural
system has also been analyzed. Total area is
20,000 m2.

ATATURK CULTURAL CENTRE (AKM) PRESIDENCY SYMPHONY
ORCHESTRA CONCERT SALOON - ANKARA
Architect: Semra-Özcan
Uygur
Client: Ministry of Culture
The building having an area of 65,000 m2 is
formed of a big saloon of 2,500 persons and
small saloon
of 1,000 persons, foyer of 1,500 persons, artist
working building, chorus study and administrative
building and closed autopark area. All building
floors are solved by a beamless plaque system.
In the saloons R/C shell system has been used.
The roof of foyer block is made of 40 m length
of 3-D steel trusses.

CULTURAL CENTRE - HACIBEKTAŞ

Karaaslan
Client: Ministry of Culture
Cultural centre in Hacıbektas has been designed
suitable to the regional cultural characteristics.
There have been multi-purpose saloon, museum,
exhibition spaces in the building. The area
is 4,000 m2 .
Structural engineering services have been performed
by PROTA in 1994.

CULTURAL CENTRE – SÖĞÜT
Architect: Mürşid
Günday
Client: Ministry of Culture
Cultural centre design work has been awarded
to PROTA through a competition in Söğüt, where
is
the first capital city of Ottoman Empire. There
have been multi-purpose saloon, museum, exhibition
spaces in the building. The area is 5,000 m2
and engineering services have been completed
in 1994.

MEDITERRANEAN CULTURES RESEARCH AND CONGRESS
CENTRE - MERSİN
Architect: Merih Karaaslan
Client: Ministry of Culture
The
centre is one of the biggest congress and cultural
centre of south east region of
Turkey. Engineering services have been performed
by PROTA in 1996.
Total area is 45,000 m2 and the centre includes
congress saloons, educational facilities,
study rooms and several social facilities.

ÇUKUROVA CULTURAL CENTRE - ADANA
Architect: Merih
Karaaslan
Client: Ministry of Culture
The centre is one of the biggest congress and
cultural centre of Adana, Turkey. Engineering
services have
been performed by PROTA in 1994.
Total area is 30,000 m2 and the centre includes
congress saloons, educational facilities, study
rooms and several social facilities.

MOVIEPOL CINEMA- ANKARA
Client: Metropol Cinema
Organizations
The 7 floor
height building has 3 underground floors
one is indoor parking level. The large
spans need for cinema halls are designed
as flat slab systems. The project and supervision
services had been rendered in 2000. The
total
construction area is 7,000 sq.m. The structural
engineering studies and projects, consultancy
and quantity estimation and site supervision
works were rendered by Prota.

ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM - ANKARA
Client: Ministry of Culture
The steel roof of the museum which has an approximate
area of 650 m2 has been designed for covering
the middle courtyard of the museum in 1999
by PROTA.
3-D Steel-constructive design system is used
and the thickest part is 350 mm.

| OCTOBER 13 , İSTANBUL CITY ENTRANCE – ANKARA
Client: Ankara Municipality.
The Istanbul Gate complex, the first of the Municipality’s
series to reshape Ankara’s visual and symbolic
structure is also an interesting area for national
and international activities. Semra-Sedvan-Ferhan
Teber were awarded with the first prize of
the project competation which was about the
scope of Ankara city gates. The project compromise
of an area of 130 ha which includes a commercial
center of 20000sq.m., social –cultural areas,
Susuz lake recreational areas, sports areas
and the Landmark 13 OCTOBER ISTANBUL CITY GATE.
The entrance of the city is constituted of
64m height “Time Tower “ and90X90 m dimensioned
“Bridge Square” Time Tower was planned to be
built with rotten proof, high resistant steel
and vertical and diagonal elements. The Tower
is in the form of right triangle and the base
area has the dimensions of 32X8m. In the Tower
there are Ankara History Museum and cultural
halls. It is covered with glass. Metal sun
protectors made of Aluminium alloy, are planned
to be put outside of the glass surface. At
the vertical side of the tower there are panoramic
lifts which are surrounded with RC shear walls.
The total construction area is 20,000sq.m.
The time tower is rise up in the circular hollow,
in the middle of the Bridge-Square which is
located on the trans European highway. The
Bridge-Square is being carried by the columns
which are arranged in two rows near the highway.
In the scope of the project the structural
and dynamic computations, precast panel design,
pre and post tensioned beam design, steel tower
design, bridge-square design, civil engineering
services, preparation of quantity estimations,
tender file, rain water drainage, sewer system,
water system project services were rendered.
