- Helen Clark, Prime Minister of New Zealand,
visited Beca-Prota Bakırköy Office on 26 April and observed
the taking of concrete samples from a nearby building.
- Measurements completed for 302 buildings
(82%).
- Structural and architectural as-built
drawings for 245 buildings (66%) completed.
- Concrete core samples taken from 308 buildings.
- After collecting building data, as-built
drawings are being prepared. Municipality drawings, as-built
drawings, building assessment forms and test results of
concrete core samples and soil are used as input for structural
analysis. These fully checked document sets have now been
completed for 209 buildings.
- Analysis models for 122 buildings have
been prepared.
23 April 2005
- Measurement and concrete sampling studies
started in Zeytinlik and Yeşilköy districts by site teams.
- Five teams have completed measurement
studies for 279 buildings.
- Concrete core samples have been taken
from 265 buildings.
- Building data reports for 186 buildings
have now been completed. These fully checked document sets
include municipality drawings, building assessment forms,
test results of concrete core samples and as-built drawings.

- Measurement studies started in Sakızağacı
and Cevizlik districts by five site teams.
- Measurement studies have been completed
for 251 buildings.
- Four teams are working on sampling of
concrete from buildings and determining classification of
reinforcement steels.
- Concrete core samples have been taken
from 238 buildings.
- Building data reports for 151 buildings
have been completed. They are used as input for structural
analysis.

studies in Yenimahalle district.
- Measurement studies have been completed

at Olympic House to brief them on the project and receive
feedback. Attended by Mehmet Basaran, Assistant Mayor, Bakirkoy
Municipality and Professors Haluk Sucuoglu and Nuray Karanci
from Middle East Technical University and by PIU Representatives
Gulen Metin and Mevlut Kahraman.

of damaged concrete sampling places, determining classification

changes to match site measurements.

- Measurement of 130 buildings in Kartaltepe
(104) and Zuhuratbaba (26) has been completed.
- Three teams are working on sampling of
concrete from buildings. Concrete core samples have been
taken from 65 buildings.
- As-built drawings have been completed
for 62 buildings.
- A briefing of office and site staff was
held on social impact to site teams by Professor Nuray Karancı
of Middle East Technical University and Dr David Johnston
from New Zealand.

buildings on Kartaltepe district and started with two buildings
on Zuhuratbaba district.
- Concrete core samples have been taken
from 48 buildings (13% of total).
- As-built drawings have been completed
for 50 buildings.

- Information on the location and size of
structural elements and an indication of the condition and
general standard of construction of each building has been
determined for 87 buildings.
- Concrete core samples have been taken
from 37 buildings.
- Structural and architectural as-built
drawings are being prepared, incorporating changes to match
site measurements by 5 draftsmen. As-built drawings for
35 buildings have been completed.
19 February 2005
- Measurements have been completed for 66
buildings.
- Structural and architectural as-built
drawings have been completed for 25 buildings.
- Existing geotechnical data were obtained
from Municipality. To identify the borehole locations, all
the project buildings have been shown on a computerised
map. Planning of borehole locations to describe the soil
conditions underneath each building is progressing.
- Preparation of updated organization chart
and detailed work programme are in progress.
